  • Vertical Fours: Since discs can only be stacked vertically, building towards a vertical four can sometimes be easier than aiming for diagonal or horizontal fours, especially in columns that aren't heavily occupied.
  • Watch for Diagonals: Diagonal lines are harder to spot and block than horizontal or vertical ones. Pay close attention to the potential diagonal connections you can make, and also be vigilant about blocking your opponent's diagonals.
  • Block Opponents: Always be on the lookout for a chance where your opponent is about to connect four. It’s crucial to play defensively when needed to block their connections.
  • Use the opponent's disc against them: Sometimes you can set up a two-way trap where you use the discs your opponent has placed to create a dual threat, making it impossible for them to block you at both ends.
  • Practice Different Scenarios: Like chess, practicing different board setups and scenarios can greatly enhance your strategic thinking and adaptability during the game.
